Difference between AID and ADF

Is ADF the same as AID? What is the difference between AID and ADF? Anybody knows?

- AID is Application Identifier. And you can call the application by AID.

- ADF is Application Dedicated File. You can see it as a directory in a computing platform where resides many different files of a specific application.

Remind that they are different from each other totally.
