OT DragonFly NFC SIM Card Is MIFARE4MOBILE®-Certified, Key For Transport And Access Control Applications

Oberthur Technologies (OT), a leading global provider of embedded security software products, services and solutions, today announced that dragonFly, its state-of-the-art NFC SIM card is now MIFARE4Mobile® v2.1.1-certified.

dragonFly, OT's cutting edge NFC SIM card is a proven range of products that enables the deployment of innovative NFC services while being fully trusted. It covers main payment services, transport technologies and of course the latest telecom features. dragonFly is already Common Criteria EAL4+ -certified, ensuring the highest level of security for payment and transport applications.

MIFARE® is the most widely deployed technology for transport tickets but also for access control (corporate badges and hotel keys). Through this new MIFARE4Mobile certification covering both MIFARE Classic® and MIFARE® DESFire®, OT enables end-users to check on their phone the credit left on a dematerialized transport ticket and to recharge their ticket on-the-go. This technology ensures a full interoperability of ticket digitalization whatever the city, whatever the country the end-user is travelling to with his phone.

"THIS MIFARE4MOBILE® CERTIFICATION IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR OUR CUSTOMERS SO THAT THEY CAN OFFER THEIR END-USERS AND PARTNERS A SOLUTION TO DEMATERIALIZE TRANSPORT TICKETS, AND CORPORATE BADGES ON A SIM CARD FOR AN IMPROVED END-USER EXPERIENCE. THIS DEMONSTRATES ONCE AGAIN THAT DRAGONFLY IS A SECURE AND INTEROPERABLE PLATFORM NOT ONLY FOR PAYMENT SERVICES, BUT ALSO FOR A WIDE RANGE OF OTHER SERVICES SUCH AS ACCESS CONTROL AND TRANSPORT USE CASES"

said Bruno Letellier, Advanced SIM Business Line Director in OT's Mobile Network Operators business.

MIFARE®, MIFARE4Mobile®, MIFARE Classic® and MIFARE® DESFire® are trademarks of NXP B.V.
